Orlanda & James Wedding

Pour yourself a drink and settle in. I tried to edit the photos down to a more manageable amount for a blog post, but really – I just couldn’t. Maybe it’s because they are your stories that you’re allowing me to help create and tell alongside you and these stories are real and authentic and full of love. And that’s simply why it’s not easy to leave anything out.

Orlanda & James met with me for their consultation and I immediately loved how genuine they were. A relaxed, skater/musician that writes his own tear-inducing vows, and a gorgeous, romantic, detail-minded and sensitive bride that radiates happiness- what’s not to like? Orlanda & James’ wedding day had their ceremony take place at a well-appointed and graceful church just off Broadway. The sweetest niece flowergirls spun and danced around as the church filled with friends and family. The bride and groom’s golden retriever came down the aisle and was on stage during the vows (and was so well-behaved!) An antique, blush coloured couch was hauled into the park (with a cool, arching tree behind) and we took a mixture of both vintage and nature as a backdrop to the photos, as well as making our way down to the revitalized Riversdale area for a more modern, clean aesthetic to contrast the overall look. The wedding party was fun and witty and James even had an acquaintance stroll by on his bike and join in for a few candid photos with the guys. The florals from this wedding were absolutely stunning! We used up some of the last of my Polaroid film for some immediate results camera fun. Classy champagne and cocktails at the St. James Hotel with the wedding party to end the afternoon.

Thanks Orlanda & James for having me take part in your beautiful wedding day! I enjoyed getting to know you through the planning of the details, and the wedding day itself. You two are simply the real deal.
