Kaytee & Chris Wedding

A friend of the couple asked me if I had ever been to a wedding this epic before.  My response was that I believe every single wedding is epic.  Whether you’re having a small, intimate exchange of vows in your living room, or a romantic backyard wedding, or a sparkly ballroom event-  anytimeanyone wants to announce their love and commit to it- well- to me that is epic.

Yes, this wedding was epic.  It all took place on the family’s property, and included hand-picked bouquets from the garden, a custom and cleverly written program, many heartfelt readings, a choir, a tree-planting ceremony, bouncy castle, croquet, axe throwing, popcorn, homemade rhubarb punch, thin crust pizzas with fresh ingredients from Floating Gardens and cooked on site in wood burning cob ovens, the groom’s favourite summer sausage flown in from Ontario, fresh garden strawberries with ice cream for dessert, fireworks, and to cap off the evening– a swing dance (with lessons for those that needed them!)

There were many details that added up to create a real sense of the couple themselves and the community that surrounds them.  During our earlier photo consultations over pancakes and sangria, Chris & Kaytee talked about how important community is for them– on their wedding day, and also in everyday life. The coming together of family and friends to create such a unique and amazing wedding day is such a beautiful example of community and love.

Congratulations Kaytee & Chris!
