Steph & Ryck Wedding
Our friends, Steph & Ryck invited us to leave the prairies for a few days and capture their mountain and meadow wedding day in Alberta, Canada. This was such a special wedding to photograph for a lot of reasons. Steph & Ryck are pretty much ridiculously and romantically in love. Like, a LOT. I’d say they both wear their heart on their sleeve. They are both thoughtful, intentional, laid back and not afraid to express their emotions, so it was such an honour to be a witness to it all.
The groom picked wildflowers for his bride that morning.
The bride couldn’t choose between 2 different wedding dresses, so that made for a fun last-minute decision (she picked the right one, of course!)
Steph wore the same necklace her mom wore on her wedding day.
If there ever was a reason to have a First Look (where the couple see each other before the ceremony)- then these photos are proof with the tears and tenderness.
Steph wanted 90’s music during the wedding party photos, so sure enough- there was dancing to Will Smith on the mountain top.
Along with the dancing was the beer party that was also in progress (remember their engagement photos here for the craft brew theme).
A few photos with their backpacks (8 hikes together and counting…)
A spectacular setting for the ceremony and reception at the rustic Springbreak Flower Farm, with antique table linens borrowed from Grandma’s home, and toffee candy in honour of Grandpa.
The folksy Vance Joy, “Your Mess is Mine,” was the first dance, while all the niece and nephew flower-kids either looked on, or joined in the dancing with some hip-hop moves.
The party ended with an energetic crowd on the dance floor with young and old alike having a festive time.
Ryck & Steph, what a joy you two are together!
Thanks for the opportunity to be there with you as you said your vows and celebrated.
Cheers,
Steph
